Account and data
What can I do on the free plan?
The free plan includes the official lessons and voice diagnoses, with these limits:
- A set number of lessons per day. You can see how many you have left today in the ring on the Courses tab. The count resets every day
- Each voice diagnosis once a day
- Up to 3 of your own lessons (My Lessons)
Premium-only lessons, changing a lesson's key, saving recordings to listen back, and detailed analysis (the overtones in your voice) come with Premium.
How do I move my data to a new phone or after reinstalling?
Your lesson history, voice diagnosis results and My Lessons are saved to your account on our servers. On the new device, tap "I already have an account" on the start screen and log in to the same account to get them back.
If you're using Voick as a guest, link your account before changing phones. Go to Menu → "Link Account" and register an email address and password. If you delete the app or change phones without linking, you won't be able to get your history back.
Recordings are stored only on your device, so they can't be moved to another device.
I forgot my password
- Tap "I already have an account" on the start screen
- On the login screen, tap "Forgot your password?"
- Enter the email address you registered and tap "Send Email"
- Open the link in the email and set a new password
If the email doesn't arrive, check your spam folder.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Menu → "Delete Account". Your lesson history and recordings, voice diagnosis results, My Lessons, practice notes, user name and settings are deleted and can't be restored.
Deleting your account doesn't cancel Premium. Cancel it first by following "How do I cancel Premium?" below.
If you've already deleted the app and can't delete your account from inside it, please contact us.
How do I change the app's language?
Go to Menu → "Language" and choose "Use device language", "日本語" or "English". Lesson titles, descriptions and lyrics change only where a translation is available; the rest stays in Japanese.
Lessons, voice and sound
My voice isn't picked up / the pitch line doesn't appear
Pitch is analyzed only when your voice is loud enough, so sing at a clear volume. If it still doesn't appear, check the following:
- Microphone access: make sure Voick is allowed to use the microphone in your device settings (iPhone: Settings → Voick → Microphone; Android: Settings → Apps → Voick → Permissions → Microphone)
- Mic sensitivity: on the lesson screen, tap the settings (gear) button at the top to open "Lesson Settings" and raise "Mic sensitivity"
- Microphone in use: in the same Lesson Settings, set "Microphone in use" to "Automatic" or "Built-in microphone"
Lesson Settings can't be opened while recording or playing back. Stop first, then open them.
Pitch isn't analyzed correctly
Voick's voice analysis may not work correctly in these cases:
- Recording in a noisy place
- Very low or very high notes
- Consonants
- Special techniques such as vocal fry
There's no sound / the sound is too quiet
- Check that your device volume isn't turned down
- Check that "BGM", "You" and "Teacher" on the lesson screen aren't turned off
- Check "Volume" in "Lesson Settings". "Reset to default" puts it back
- The teacher's voice isn't recorded in every key. Keys marked with a dot in "Lesson key" have it
- If nothing helps, close the app and open it again
My voice and the score are out of sync / I'm not scored correctly
The time between a sound playing and your voice being picked up depends on your device and earphones. If it's off, you lose points even when you sing correctly. Adjust it from Menu → "Latency Calibration" (or "Timing" in Lesson Settings).
- With the speaker, Voick plays short sounds, picks them up with the mic and adjusts automatically. Start somewhere quiet with the volume turned up
- With earphones, you clap along with clicks to adjust
- If it doesn't line up, use "Adjust manually"
- Adjust again whenever you change your setup, such as switching earphones
If your recorded voice sounds out of sync with the backing track when you listen back, adjust "Recording playback offset" in Lesson Settings.
Can I use Bluetooth earphones?
Yes. Bluetooth earphones deliver sound with a delay, though, so the offset gets larger. Run Latency Calibration before you sing. Wired earphones keep the delay small.
If you choose the Bluetooth earphones' microphone in "Microphone in use", they switch to a call connection and the sound quality drops. To keep the quality, choose "Built-in microphone" (on iPhone, "Automatic" may pick the earphones' microphone).
The lesson key is too high or too low
Go to Menu → "Voice Range" and choose "Lower range (male voice)" or "Higher range (female voice)". All official lessons start in the key you choose.
With Premium, you can also raise or lower each lesson by semitones (−5 to +5) in "Lesson key" in "Lesson Settings". The key you set stays the next time you open that lesson.
Do lessons expire?
No, lessons don't expire. Premium-only lessons become unavailable when your Premium subscription ends.
Plans and payment
How do I cancel Premium?
Premium is a store subscription that renews automatically. To stop it, cancel it in your device's store. Deleting the app or your account doesn't cancel it.
Please cancel at least 2 days before it renews. After you cancel, you can keep using Premium until the end of the period you've paid for.
iPhone and iPad (App Store)
- Open the "Settings" app and tap your name at the top
- Tap "Subscriptions"
- Tap "Voick"
- Tap "Cancel Subscription" (you may need to scroll down)
If there's no Cancel button, or you see an expiration message in red, the subscription is already canceled. For details, see Apple's "Cancel a subscription from Apple".
Android (Google Play)
- Open the "Play Store" app and tap your profile icon at the top right
- Tap "Payments & subscriptions" → "Subscriptions" (or open your Google Play subscriptions)
- Tap "Voick"
- Tap "Cancel subscription" and follow the instructions
For details, see Google's "Cancel, pause, or change a subscription on Google Play".
I paid but Premium isn't active
Go to Menu → "Membership" and tap "Restore Purchases" near the bottom of the screen. Your device must be signed in to the same store account (Apple ID or Google account) you bought with. Also check your connection. If it still doesn't work, please contact us.
Can I use my plan on both iPhone and Android?
Yes. Log in to the same Voick account and you can use Premium on the other device too (if you're a guest, link your account first). Cancellation and billing are managed in the store you bought from.
